Sri Lanka, Feb. 2 -- Severe lightning accompanied by thundershowers is highly likely in parts of the Western and Sabaragamuwa provinces, as well as the Galle and Matara districts.

The Department of Meteorology issued an advisory warning that these areas may also experience temporary, localised strong winds during the storms.

The public is urged to take necessary precautions to minimize risks associated with lightning strikes.
