Sri Lanka, Sept. 12 -- A Sri Lanka Army Lieutenant Colonel, who is accused of selling firearms to notorious underworld figures 'Kehelbaddara Padme' and 'Commando Salintha', has been granted a 7-day detention order for questioning.

The Police Media Spokesperson confirmed the order was issued. The suspect was arrested yesterday (11) by the Western North Crimes Division. He is a resident of the Galle area and is currently attached to the Mallavi Army camp.

The report also notes that 'Kehelbaddara Padme' was arrested on August 28 in Indonesia during a joint operation by Indonesian and Sri Lankan law enforcement.
