Sri Lanka, July 22 -- The Lanka Salt Company has restarted production activities after an 18-month halt caused by adverse weather conditions, according to its Chairman, D. Nandanathilaka.
The Chairman expressed optimism that the resumption of local salt production will lead to a reduction in the currently elevated market price of salt.
Nandanathilaka further stated that the company aims to produce between 40,000 and 50,000 metric tons of salt by the end of this year from its Bundala, Hambantota, and Palatupana salt pans.
