Sri Lanka, Oct. 30 -- For the first time in Sri Lanka's history, the country's exports are set to surpass the USD 18 billion-mark, disclosed Mangala Wijesinghe, Chairman of the Sri Lanka Export Development Board (EDB), at the launch of the 27th Presidential Export Awards (PEA) ceremony today. The event will be held on December 11, 2025, at the BMICH.

"Our target was to reach USD 18 billion, and with the first two quarters yielding USD 13 billion, we are confident of surpassing this goal. In fact, we expect to end the year around USD 18.7 billion," Wijesinghe said.
