Sri Lanka, June 2 -- An audit report has revealed that Lanka Phosphate Limited has incurred a financial loss exceeding Rs. 15 million from the procurement of rubber bushes for its grinding machines.

The report states that this loss occurred because a single rubber bush unit, which could have been purchased locally for Rs. 350, was instead bought for an exorbitant Rs. 79,082.

The Eppawala-based Lanka Phosphate Limited has previously drawn significant public attention on several occasions due to alleged irregularities.
