Sri Lanka, Jan. 6 -- Pre-emptive landslide warnings are in effect for the Ududumbara division in Kandy, Wilgamuwa in Matale, and Walapane in the Nuwara Eliya district.

The National Building Research Institute (NBRI) released these alerts following heavy rainfall in the region. Simultaneously, the Department of Meteorology predicted intense downpours of approximately 100mm in parts of the Uva Province, as well as the Nuwara Eliya, Matale, Polonnaruwa, Batticaloa, and Ampara districts.
