Srilanka, Nov. 25 -- Approximately 30 people in the Pettigala area of Balangoda were relocated to safe places due to a landslide risk.
The District Disaster Management Centre stated the residents were evacuated because signs of a landslide emerged in the Pettigala area due to the heavy rainfall persisting in the region for several days.
Meanwhile, a landslide in Kumbalwela, Bandarawela, damaged a house. Separately, a landslide in the Panwilahena area of Udugama damaged four houses.
With the continuing rain, the landslide warnings remain active for 11 districts. The National Building Research Organisation stated the warning is in effect for the districts of Colombo, Kalutara, Galle, Matara, Hambantota, Kandy, Matale, Nuwara Eliya, Ratna...
