Srilanka, Dec. 7 -- The National Building Research Institute (NBRI) issued its latest warning indicating several areas across seven districts are under elevated landslide threat levels.

This warning remains valid until 4pm tomorrow (8).

The alert specifies that immediate evacuation is necessary if rain continues, as rainfall has exceeded 150mm in the past 24 hours.

Residents in high-risk areas should move quickly to safe locations to avoid landslides, slope failures, and ground subsidence. Level-3 Landslide Early Warnings were extended for Kandy, Kegalle, Kurunegala, and Matale districts.

Level-2 Warnings are active in Badulla, Nuwara Eliya, and Ratnapura districts, and Level-1 Warnings in Galle, Gampaha, and Monaragala districts.
