Sri Lanka, April 26 -- All flights at Lahore's Allama Iqbal International Airport in Pakistan have been suspended following a significant fire on the airfield today (26).

Initial reports indicate that the blaze erupted when a Pakistan Army aircraft was landing.

One of the plane's tyres reportedly caught fire, prompting the immediate dispatch of fire engines to the scene.

As a consequence of the incident, the airport's runway has been temporarily closed to all air traffic.
