Sri Lanka, Feb. 9 -- The Democratic Party of Korea expelled Kim Hee-soo, the head of Jindo County, on the 9th over controversial derogatory remarks about foreign women.
Park Soo-hyun, the party's chief spokesperson, told reporters after a Supreme Council meeting that day, "A non-public Supreme Council session resolved to impose emergency disciplinary action against one party member for a serious violation." Park added, "The individual in question is Kim, and the reason is the controversy caused by derogatory remarks about foreign women during a live-streamed Gwangju-Jeonnam town hall meeting on February 4th. The expulsion was unanimously approved by all Supreme Council members."
