Sri Lanka, Dec. 5 -- In response to the severe devastation caused by tropical cyclone Ditwah across Sri Lanka, the Government of the Republic of Korea has announced a contribution of USD 500,000 to assist ongoing emergency relief efforts.
This financial support will be channelled through the World Food Programme (WFP) in Sri Lanka and will be directed towards fulfilling the urgent basic needs of communities in the most heavily affected districts, including Nuwara Eliya, Badulla, Kurunegala, Kandy, Trincomalee and Mannar. The assistance is aimed at supporting families whose livelihoods, homes and access to essential services have been severely disrupted by the cyclone's destructive impact.
