Sri Lanka, Feb. 4 -- A suspect arrested with heroin valued at over Rs. 400 million in the Hospital Road area of Kiribathgoda maintains direct links to an international narcotics network.

Police identified a Thai national, apprehended subsequently at the 18th Mile Post in Katunayake, as a key operative within this global syndicate.

The initial arrest occurred last night when the Kelaniya Division Crimes Investigation Bureau acted on intelligence to intercept a suspicious motorcycle.

Officers discovered 3.18 kilograms of heroin in the suspect's possession.

Information revealed during the interrogation of the first suspect led authorities to the 32-year-old Thai national.
