Sri Lanka, Oct. 25 -- Chief Incumbent of the Kiri Vehera Rajamaha Viharaya, Venerable Kobbawaka Damminda Thera, has sent a letter to the Minister of Public Security informing him that the Police Special Task Force (STF) security provided to him after he was shot in 2018 has now been withdrawn.

In the statement issued by the Thera, he noted that the historical Kiri Vehera Rajamaha Viharaya had been provided with police security since the time of the late Chief Incumbent, Most Venerable Aluthwewa Soratha Thera's administration.

In the letter addressed to the Minister of Public Security, Venerable Thera pointed out that the individual who shot him is still at large, and threats to his life persist.
