Sri Lanka, Jan. 22 -- A tense situation erupted near Kilinochchi Central College after a vehicle previously involved in a fatal collision was linked to a second incident involving the deceased's younger brother. Local police report that the unrest began when the vehicle, recently released from police custody, encountered the family member on the road.
The original incident occurred in November, when an individual was struck and fatally injured by a tipper truck. Residents suspect the death was a premeditated act carried out by those involved in local sand smuggling, allegedly because the victim had exposed their activities. While the legal case is ongoing, the court released the impounded vehicle on the 19th.
