Sri Lanka, July 7 -- The Fundamental Rights petition filed by a group of students requesting an interim injunction to prevent the implementation of the decision to stop admitting local students to the medical degree program at the General Sir John Kotelawala Defence University (KDU) can be settled amicably, lawyers representing both parties informed the Supreme Court today, (7).
The petition was called today before a three-judge Supreme Court bench comprising Chief Justice Murdhu Fernando, Mahinda Samayawardena, and Menaka Wijesundara.
Attorney-at-Law Hafil Farisz, appearing for the petitioners, informed the court that the case could be settled.
