Srilanka, Nov. 22 -- The number of people who died in the rockslide at a shop in the Lower Kadugannawa area rose to two.

Another male individual who was trapped in the debris of the affected shop was rescued and taken to the hospital, but hospital sources confirmed he was deceased at that time.

Just moments before, a woman who was trapped under the earth embankment was rescued and hospitalised.

Reports indicated that several people who were inside the shop when the incident occurred were trapped in the debris.

Following the incident, one woman was rescued and hospitalised.

Rescue operations are still ongoing to save other individuals who remain trapped under the earth embankment.
