Sri Lanka, Jan. 21 -- The Judicial Service Association (JSA) expressed severe concern yesterday (20) regarding unfounded criticisms that threaten the independence of the court system and erode public trust.
In an official statement, the association noted a rise in targeted and destructive attempts to influence the judiciary, which it views as a significant risk to the rule of law.
The JSA emphasised that it will not hesitate to take all necessary measures to oppose any efforts aimed at obstructing judicial independence.
These remarks follow a recent surge in social media commentary directed at various sectors of the legal system, including the Attorney General's Department and individual judicial officers.
