Sri Lanka, March 27 -- A jeep travelling from Ginigathhena to Badulla veered off the road and fell into the Nanu Oya river near the Blackpool junction on the Hatton-Nuwara Eliya main road early this morning (27).

Nanu Oya Police said two of the three occupants in the jeep were injured and admitted to the Nuwara Eliya District General Hospital.

The accident occurred around 6.00 am when the driver reportedly fell asleep, causing the vehicle to crash through several concrete pillars before plunging about 20 feet into the river. The jeep sustained severe damage in the accident.
