Sri Lanka, Dec. 17 -- Foreign Affairs, Foreign Employment and Tourism Minister Vijitha Herath today (17) received a USD 2.5 million grant from the Government of Japan to assist Sri Lanka's recovery and reconstruction following Cyclone Ditwah.
The assistance was formally handed over by the Japanese Ambassador to Sri Lanka, H.E. Akio Isomata.
The grant comes alongside the swift deployment of a Japan Disaster Relief (JDR) medical team and the delivery of emergency relief supplies to the country.
The Minister expressed his gratitude to the Government and people of Japan for their continued support to Sri Lanka during this challenging period.
