Sri Lanka, July 1 -- The National Transport Commission has announced a marginal reduction in bus fares by just 0.55%, starting from July 4.

While a 2.5% reduction was promised earlier, the National Transport Commission went back on its decision following last night's fuel price hikes.

Despite the reduction, the minimum fare of Rs. 27, along with the next two fare levels of Rs. 35 and Rs. 45, will remain unchanged.
