Sri Lanka, May 6 -- Israel's security cabinet has approved a plan to expand its military offensive against Hamas.

Foreign media, quoting an Israeli official, said this includes the capture of Gaza and holding its territory.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has stated that the cabinet decided on a forceful operation to destroy Hamas and rescue hostages.

The cabinet also approved a plan, in principle, to deliver aid through private companies, ending a two-month blockade.
