Sri Lanka, May 1 -- The Department of Meteorology has issued a weather forecast indicating that showers or thundershowers are likely to occur at most places across the island during the afternoon or night.
The Intertropical Convergence Zone, where winds from the Northern and Southern Hemispheres meet, is influencing the island's weather patterns.
Showers may also occur in the Southern and Western provinces, as well as in the Puttalam, Ampara, and Batticaloa districts, during the morning hours.
The forecast warns of fairly heavy rainfall, potentially reaching around 75 mm in some areas of the Central, Sabaragamuwa, and Uva provinces, along with the Hambantota and Ampara districts.
