Sri Lanka, Feb. 9 -- An imbalance in the Colombo main system led to a power outage across the island today (09), authorities confirmed.

Despite the outage, train services remain unaffected, though passengers have faced difficulties due to the inability to make announcements at railway stations.

Secretary to the Ministry of Power and Energy, Udayanga Hemapala, stated that steps are being taken to restore power as soon as possible, with an estimated timeline of a few hours.
