Sri Lanka, Oct. 15 -- Ishara Sewwandi, the main suspect in the assassination of organised crime leader 'Ganemulla Sanjeewa' inside the Colombo Hulftsdorp Court on February 19, 2025, has been arrested in Nepal along with a group of other suspects.

This was announced by Police Spokesman, Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) F.U. Wootler, while addressing the Cabinet decisions briefing at the Department of Government Information yesterday (14).

A total of 06 suspects have been taken into police custody, including the main suspect Ishara Sewwandi, one other female suspect, and four male suspects.

The Spokesman revealed that after the murder, Ishara Sewwandi was found to have fled the country by sea.
