Sri Lanka, June 25 -- Iran's parliament has approved a bill to suspend cooperation with the UN nuclear watchdog, the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), state-affiliated news outlet Nournews reported.
This move, which requires final approval from Iran's Supreme National Security Council to be enforced, follows the recent conflict with Israel.
Parliament Speaker Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf was quoted by state media as saying Iran would also accelerate its civilian nuclear programme.
Tehran denies seeking nuclear weapons and contends that a resolution adopted this month by the IAEA, which declared Iran in breach of its non-proliferation obligations, paved the way for Israel's recent attacks.
