Sri Lanka, June 14 -- Deputy Minister of Education and Higher Education, Dr. Madhura Seneviratne, has called for a preliminary investigation report within a week regarding the incident at Rajawaka Maha Vidyalaya in Balangoda.
He also instructed that any unsafe trees within the school premises be reported to the Divisional Secretary and the State Timber Corporation.
Dr. Seneviratne made these remarks while inspecting the school buildings, which were damaged when a Bo tree branch fell.
Darshani Iddamalgoda, the Sabaragamuwa Provincial Director of Education, confirmed that a three-member committee has been appointed to investigate the incident.
