Sri Lanka, April 30 -- An investigation has been initiated into an alleged incident where the Lanka Phosphate Company incurred a loss of Rs. 2.7 billion, through the sale of 3,000 metric tons of rock phosphate to three companies during the previous government.
The Illegal Assets Investigation Division has filed a report with the Colombo Magistrate's Court regarding this matter.
The investigation was launched following a complaint lodged by an individual from the Nittambuwa area.
Police have obtained necessary court orders to facilitate the investigation.
