Srilanka, Nov. 19 -- The Bribery Commission informed the Colombo Chief Magistrate, Asanga S. Bodaragama, yesterday (18) that the initial investigations have been completed in the case filed against Member of Parliament Chamara Sampath Dassanayake.
The charges allege that while serving as the Chief Minister of the Uva Province, he caused a loss to the government by prematurely withdrawing six fixed deposit accounts belonging to the Provincial Council before their maturity dates.
The Magistrate ordered the case to be recalled on February 20, 2026.
