Sri Lanka, June 12 -- The investigative committee appointed to probe allegations of misconduct and abuse of power against suspended Inspector General of Police Deshabandu Tennakoon convened for its fifth day on June 11.

The proceedings involved recording statements from four witnesses, beginning with Anslem de Silva, the suspended Officer-in-Charge of the Colombo Crimes Division, who is named as the 24th witness.

Tennakoon also appeared before the parliamentary inquiry committee for the fifth consecutive day.

The committee had previously ordered the submission of the 'B' file containing investigations conducted by the Police Headquarters' Special Investigation Unit into the shooting incident involving two Colombo Crimes Division office...
