Sri Lanka, May 16 -- The inquest into the death of a girl, who took her own life at an apartment complex in the Kotahena area, was held on May 15 at the Colombo Magistrate's Court before Acting Magistrate Sampath Jayawardena.

Evidence was recorded under the investigations of the Kotahena Police, with the chairman of the apartment complex where the girl resided, Karuppaiya Sathees Kumar, first to provide testimony.

Subsequently, the mother of the deceased girl also gave evidence before the court.

The Acting Magistrate adjourned further proceedings until May 22, at which time additional testimony from the girl's mother is scheduled to be recorded.
