Sri Lanka, Feb. 23 -- The temporarily suspended Indo-Sri Lankan ferry service resumed today with the arrival of the Sivagangai ferry at the Kankesanthurai port from Nagapattinam.
The ferry, carrying 83 passengers, reached Kankesanthurai at 12:15 p.m.
The international passenger ferry service between Nagapattinam and Jaffna was launched in October 2023 to promote cultural and tourism ties between India and Sri Lanka. It gained popularity among tourists and traders but was suspended in November due to adverse weather conditions.
