Sri Lanka, Sept. 10 -- India has pledged a grant of LKR 600 million for the construction of a new two-storey Accident and Emergency Unit at the District General Hospital in Mannar, Sri Lanka.
A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed by the High Commissioner of India to Sri Lanka, Santosh Jha, and the Secretary to the Ministry of Health and Mass Media, Dr. Anil Jasinghe.
The agreement, which was also attended by the Minister of Health and Mass Media, Dr. Nalinda Jayatissa, includes funding for both the construction and the provision of essential medical equipment for the new unit.
