Srilanka, Nov. 18 -- Due to the birthday of former President Mahinda Rajapaksa, the Indian Consul General, Shri Harvindar Singh, visited the former President's Carlton residence in Tangalle today (18).

This was to convey birthday wishes from the Indian High Commissioner, Santosh Jha.

The former President posted a note on his Facebook page regarding the visit, expressing his hearty gratitude while happily recalling the diplomatic and personal friendship between the two of them.

The Facebook post read:

"This morning (18), Indian Consul General Shri Harvindar Singh visited the Carlton House in Tangalle and conveyed the birthday wishes of the Indian High Commissioner Santosh Jha.
