Sri Lanka, May 1 -- The ongoing conflict between India and Pakistan has not impacted the pilgrimage to Dambadiva, the Director General of the Civil Aviation Authority, Air Vice Marshal Sagara Kotakadeniya, has stated.
His assurances come in the wake of India's decision yesterday to close its airspace to Pakistani airlines.
This move followed Pakistan's ban on Indian airlines from flying over its territory, which was implemented days after an attack in Kashmir that resulted in the deaths of 26 tourists. The airspace ban imposed by India is set to remain in effect from April 30 until May 23.
