Sri Lanka, May 7 -- India has initiated a series of air and missile strikes, dubbed "Operation Sindoor," targeting nine sites across Pakistan and Pakistan-administered Kashmir.

The operation began yesterday (06) in response to a deadly attack in Indian-administered Kashmir on April 22 that resulted in the deaths of 26 civilians, primarily Hindu tourists. India attributes the assault to The Resistance Front, a group allegedly linked to Pakistan-based terrorists. The Indian Ministry of Defence stated that the strikes were "focused, measured, and non-escalatory," aimed at terrorist infrastructure such as training camps and weapons depots.
