Sri Lanka, April 27 -- In an impressive display of skill and dominance, the India Women's cricket team triumphed over Sri Lanka by 9 wickets, with 56 balls to spare, in the first match of the ODI Tri-Series which also features South Africa.
The first match got underway at the R. Premadasa International Cricket Stadium in Colombo today (27), with the visitors winning the toss and electing to field first.
Sri Lanka struggled to build partnerships, with only a few notable contributions in their innings. They could not make use of their allotted 50 overs, being all out for 147 runs in 38.1 overs.
Hasini Perera top scored with a knock of 30, while Kavisha Dilhari chipped in with 25 runs.
