Sri Lanka, Oct. 28 -- India and Sri Lanka are exploring the potential to significantly enhance maritime connectivity, including the establishment of a new ferry route between Rameswaram and Talaimannar.
The matter was discussed at a bilateral meeting in Mumbai during the India Maritime Week 2025.
India's Minister of Ports, Shipping and Waterways, Sarbananda Sonowal, met with Sri Lanka's Minister of Ports and Civil Aviation, Anura Karunathilaka.
