Sri Lanka, May 31 -- Independent candidate Kasun Munasinghe, who contested and secured his seat in the Matugama Pradeshiya Sabha in the local government election, alleged that the National People's Power attempted to buy his group's support.
Speaking at a media briefing yesterday (30), Munasinghe stated that an NPP minister visited his home to seek his support.
He claimed to possess CCTV footage of the incident.
He added that two more rounds of discussions took place later in Colombo.Munasinghe said that the Minister in question offered Provincial Council nominations and Rs.8 million per division to the independent candidates in a bid to gain control of the Matugama Pradeshiya Sabha.
