Sri Lanka, Feb. 5 -- The Polonnaruwa District Independence Day celebration took place with dignity yesterday morning (04) at the Polonnaruwa District Secretariat premises to mark the 78th National Independence Day.

Deputy Minister of Housing, Construction, and Water Supply T.B. Sarath attended the event alongside Polonnaruwa District Members of Parliament Sunil Ratnasiri and Padmasiri Bandara, District Secretary Sujantha Ekanayake, and numerous government officials.

The Polonnaruwa District Secretariat, in collaboration with various state institutions in the district, organised the ceremony.
