Sri Lanka, May 17 -- The Director General of the Meteorology Department, Athula Karunanayake, states that an increase in rainfall is expected over the next few days due to atmospheric disturbances in the lower Bay of Bengal.
He noted that the Western, Sabaragamuwa, Central, North-Western, and Northern provinces, as well as the Galle and Matara districts, can anticipate increased rainfall in the coming days.
The Director General also urged the fishing community to be cautious when engaging in fishing activities in the days ahead.
