Sri Lanka, June 15 -- First Deputy Managing Director of the International Monetary Fund (IMF), Dr. Gita Gopinath, is scheduled to visit Sri Lanka from today (15), until tomorrow (16).

This marks the first visit by a serving FDMD of the IMF to Sri Lanka since 2005.

During her visit, Dr. Gopinath will be the guest of honour at the "Sri Lanka's Road to Recovery: Debt and Governance" conference tomorrow, co-hosted by the Ministry of Finance, the Central Bank of Sri Lanka, and the IMF.

The event aims to review lessons learned from the country's experience in restoring macroeconomic stability, implementing debt restructuring, and governance reforms, while also focusing on future challenges.
