Sri Lanka, June 15 -- The First Deputy Managing Director of the International Monetary Fund, Dr. Gita Gopinath, has arrived in Sri Lanka for a two-day visit.

This marks the first time since 2005 that a serving First Deputy Managing Director of the IMF has visited the country.

The Central Bank stated that she is set to be the special guest at a conference titled "Sri Lanka's Economic Recovery - Debt and Governance," which will be held in Colombo tomorrow (16).

The conference will focus on Sri Lanka's experiences in achieving macroeconomic stability, debt restructuring, and governance, as well as future challenges.
