Sri Lanka, Sept. 9 -- Inspector General of Police (IGP) Priyatha Weerasuriya met with the Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Kanchana Banagoda, today (09) at the Naval Headquarters.

The IGP was warmly welcomed by Commander Western Naval Area, Rear Admiral Jagath Kumara, and was accorded a traditional naval guard of honour. This marks the first time the IGP has officially visited the Naval Headquarters since assuming his new post.

During the meeting, the two officials held a cordial discussion on several matters of mutual importance. The Commander of the Navy also extended his best wishes to the IGP for his new role.
