Sri Lanka, Nov. 3 -- The person who died in the shooting last night (2) in the 12-Acre area of Sirilton Watta, Miwalapalana, Horana, was a suspect in a previous homicide, Horana Headquarters Police say.

The person who died in this incident is a 45-year-old father of two named Galhenage Damith Pushpakumara. He was a resident of the Community Hall area of Sirilton Watta, Miwalapana, and worked as a laborer.

Police state the deceased was a suspect involved in a prior incident where a woman died after being stabbed and hacked.

Police arrested a suspect in connection with the current shooting and mention the person who died had killed the suspect's partner.
