Sri Lanka, June 19 -- Sri Lanka enjoyed a superb day with the bat as the hosts ended day 3 of the first test against Bangladesh in Galle, 127 runs behind the visitors.

The home side made light work of claiming the last Bangladeshi wicket this morning (19) to leave them on 495 runs in their first innings.

In Sri Lanka's response, opener Pathum Nissanka was the star with the bat, putting on a stellar display with a 187-run knock on a flat wicket.

It was his 3rd career test century.

Veteran Dinesh Chandimal also chipped in with a knock of 54, while Angelo Mathews, who is set to retire from test cricket at the end of this match, could only manage 39.

The home side ended the day on 368 runs for the loss of 4 wickets.
