Srilanka, Nov. 27 -- Data released by the National STD/AIDS Control Programme show that HIV infections increased in Sri Lanka, contrasting with a decline in cases worldwide.
Venereologist Dr. Vino Dharmakulasinghe revealed this during a media briefing at the Health Promotion Bureau to announce programs organized for World AIDS Day, which is December 1. Dr. Dharmakulasinghe further mentioned that the rise in HIV infections is especially notable among young adults between the ages of 20 and 24 in Sri Lanka.
