Sri Lanka, June 19 -- The historic Esala Perahera Maha Mangalya has been officially scheduled, with events commencing on July 25.

Chief custodian of the Sacred Temple of the Tooth Relic, Pradeep Nilanga Dela, announced the dates today (19) during a discussion held at the Ran Auda Mandapam of the Sri Dalada Maligawa.

The festivities will begin with the 'planting of auspicious cups' at the 4 major devales on July 25.

Following five days of internal peraheras within the devales, the first Kumbal Perahera is set to parade the streets on July 30.

The Chief Custodian confirmed that the Kumbul Perahera will continue through August 3.

The first Randoli Perahera will then take place on August 4, culminating in the final Randoli Maha Perahera ...
