Sri Lanka, Feb. 5 -- Sri Lanka Customs Narcotics Control Division officers have uncovered 65g of kush and 500ml of liquid cocaine concealed inside a parcel sent from Britain, marking the first time in history that cocaine in liquid form has been detected in a courier shipment.
The discovery was made during routine surveillance at the Colombo Cargo Courier Division, where the suspicious package, addressed to a location in Kiribathgoda, was intercepted and later opened in the presence of the suspect.
The seized drugs have an estimated market value of nearly Rs. 13 million. The suspect, a 23-year-old Ragama resident working in the tourism sector, was taken into custody.
