Sri Lanka, June 30 -- The Colombo High Court today (30) ordered that the petition filed by former Minister Duminda Dissanayake, who is currently remanded in connection with the seizure of a gold-plated firearm, be taken up for hearing on July 14.
The petition was heard before Colombo High Court Judge Manjula Thilakaratne.
President's Counsel Sampath Mendis presented arguments on behalf of the former minister.
After considering the submissions, the Judge stated that an inquiry into the petition was appropriate based on the facts presented.
The Judge noted that the investigation files related to the case have been submitted to the Attorney General and are currently under their supervision.
