Sri Lanka, Jan. 8 -- The case filed against former Minister of Petroleum Resources Development Anura Priyadarshana Yapa and several others regarding the alleged misappropriation of state funds is set for trial on January 27.
Colombo High Court Judge Udesh Ranatunga issued this order when the case came up for consideration today (08). The Judge further directed that summons be issued to two witnesses, requiring them to appear before the court on the scheduled date.
The Attorney General filed this case under five counts against the former Minister, his wife, and other defendants. The charges relate to the alleged misappropriation of Rs. 6,146,110 belonging to the Ceylon Petroleum Corporation between December 26, 2014, and January 26, 2015...
